Reduce pain, reclaim your health and rediscover your mobility today

with the help of Daniel Heymann, Cranio Sacral Therapist and Romiromi practitioner in Whanganui.

Chronic pain comes in many forms, from headaches and migraines to neck and back pain; just treating the symptoms isn’t a long term solution.

At Freiraum Therapies, we focus on uncovering and dealing with the root causes of pain, tension and restricted movement — which often go beyond the physical and are linked to emotional or energetic imbalances held in the body.

Our gentle, non-invasive techniques allow the body to rediscover its balance, release tension and come back into alignment.

Both Craniosacral Therapy and Romiromi are holistic treatments aiming to restore balance and well-being. In your initial consultation, we’ll decide together which approach best suits your needs.

If pain, tension, or lack of mobility are affecting your quality of life, now is the time to make a change. I invite you to take the first step. Let’s explore what’s possible when we work with the body’s natural intelligence and healing potential.

Treatments

  • Cranio Sacral Therapy

A gentle, hands-on method that helps the body release tension and calm the nervous system — ideal for stress, chronic pain, and emotional regulation.

  • Romiromi

A deep, traditional Māori bodywork using pressure and energy work to release blockages and restore flow on physical, emotional, and spiritual levels.

Our physical health cannot be separated from our emotional, mental and spiritual wellbeing -  they are deeply connected and constantly influencing one another. Understanding this connection is key to achieving true, lasting wellness.

During my time as a physiotherapist, I began to notice that for some clients, symptoms would return despite effective physical treatment. It made me realise that focusing on the physical body alone wasn’t always enough. I became curious about what might lie beneath the surface.

This curiosity led me to explore other forms of healing - with Craniosacral Therapy and Romiromi I found the tools to work more holistically and to support the body’s natural ability to find balance and healing.

I’ve come to see that physical pain and emotional tension are often two sides of the same coin. Injuries or physical ailments can affect our mental balance. Likewise, emotional trauma can be reflected on a physical level, as our body memorizes traumatic experiences in the body cells. The source of these issues can sometimes even be found back at younger age.

Today, I use gentle, intuitive techniques to help release these deeper layers of tension. My goal is to support each person in reconnecting with their body’s innate wisdom and self-healing capacity — so they can feel more at ease, more resilient, and more whole.

Treating the whole person: physical, mental and emotional.

Originally from Germany, I moved to New Zealand in 2021 with my wife and our 3 children and now work as Cranio Sacral Therapist and Romiromi practitioner in Whanganui.

My aim is to provide a therapy that reflects the broad range of knowledge and experience I have gained from my clinical work since graduating in Physiotherapy in 1999. After working in different hospitals and private clinics, I ran a successful Physiotherapy/ Occupational Therapy clinic with my wife for 15 years for all age groups and medical areas. My further professional trainings include Neuro-developmental Therapy For Newborns, Children And Adults, Naturopathy, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture Massage, Manual Therapy, Lymphatic Therapy, Massage, Kinesio-Taping and Artificial-Limb Training.

By working with various holistic healing methods as well as my experience with meditation and Qi Gong, I am constantly reminded of how important it is to be connected. Being connected to all aspects of the self on a physical, emotional and spiritual level will enable optimal healing and ultimate wellbeing.
